Toolkit and Lessons Plans

The i-SCHOOL Cultural Heritage Toolkit is complementary to the online course and is a Training Package with educational sessions regarding cultural heritage and education. The innovative element is that these interactive sessions are developed in collaboration with local cultural institutions using NFE methodology and digital tools, and are designed as supplemental material that teachers of different disciplines can use (natural sciences, drama, history, biology, mathematics, etc.) to incorporate culture and heritage in various school subjects and the daily school programme.

The toolkit is a set of interactive ready-to-apply sessions for teachers to adapt to their class curriculum. It contains interactive activities, methodologies, tools, as well as good practices, linked to cultural heritage. The sessions are based on NFE and experiential methodologies and can include topics such as:

  • Defining and discovering Cultural Heritage (tangible and intangible)
  • Identity, Diversity and Cultural Heritage
  • Cultural heritage and cultural institutions
  • The use of storytelling and Escape Rooms methodology in cultural heritage education
  • AR tools and cultural heritage education
  • Role-play scenarios

The sessions are designed for a class period but activities can take place out of the school setting, that is, in cultural spaces, such as museums, archaeological sites, and national parks, but also in the school environment (classrooms or outdoor spaces), when necessary.
